Ulvi Aliyev: "Every cheer from the stands gives us strength"
"We will do our best to make the fans happy." Sport24.az reports that Ulvi Aliyev, a futsal player of the Azerbaijani national team, said this in his statement to the press service of the Futsal Federation regarding the match against Greece in the main stage of the European Championship tomorrow.
Aliyev asked the fans to support the team:
"The Greek national team started the group games with a victory. In general, there is no weak opponent in futsal now. If we look at the results of the matches held two days ago, we will see surprise scores. This time we will play at our home ground. I appeal to our fans to come to the game and not spare their support. Every cheer from the stands gives us strength. We will do our best to make the fans happy."
He also touched upon the game against the Croatian national team on February 1 (2:9), as well as the team's latest situation:
"The game did not go as we expected. We made gross mistakes and conceded consecutive goals. If we could have played a little more carefully and accurately, the score would have been different. Croatia, which is considered the favorite of our group, is one of the strongest teams in Europe and a participant in the last world championship. We have been continuing training in Baku since yesterday. We had two trainings. We have focused all our attention on the game with Greece. The children work enthusiastically in training. Each of us wants to win and forget the defeat in the match with Croatia. True, there was a little fatigue. We tried to have a good recovery process."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan-Greece match will start tomorrow at 20:00 at the Baku Sports Hall.
