The Azerbaijan national team, consisting of football players under the age of 20, may receive an invitation for a football player playing in Germany. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev in a statement to journalists.
The official of the organization recalled that only one player from abroad participated in the current training camp:
"We also wanted to invite football players playing abroad to the U-20 training camp in Gabala. However, they could not participate in the preparation process because their championships were ongoing. There are plans to invite them in the future. Currently, only a football player from the Spanish "Marset" academy has been called up. Our players playing in Turkey and Sweden will also come later. They have already been in national teams before. There are also 1-2 football players from Germany. Although they are connected to Azerbaijan, they do not yet have passports."
It should be reminded that U-20 will be in a training camp in Gabala until April 26. The team will participate in the FIFA U-20 World Championship, which will be held in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in 2027.
