The head of the Senegal Football Federation, Abdulay Fall, stated that the team's full-time doctor has been a gynecologist for over 10 years.

"Our full-time doctor does not have the necessary academic education to support our athletes. I found out about this too late. This doctor is a gynecologist by specialty. And I think that people at this level were not confident enough to work with him.
Therefore, we had to find a really convincing specialist for the athletes to feel completely confident in this matter, because health is above everything," Fall said at a press conference.
