The delay is related to additional verification of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) submitted by the player. Despite complications, the ETA was approved on the morning of Tuesday, June 2. The Swiss Football Association is currently in direct contact with US authorities and expects Embolo to join the national team in the coming days, likely on Tuesday, June 3, or Wednesday.
In the World Cup group stage, the Switzerland team will face the national teams of Qatar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Canada. World Cup 2026 will be held from June 11 to July 19 in three countries: USA, Canada, and Mexico.
