The appointments announced today for the return matches of the Azerbaijan Cup semi-final stage attract attention with their unexpectedness.
Idman.biz reports that the AFFA Referees Committee has taken an interesting step, taking into account the value and principles of the matches.
8 referees who officiate in the Premier League have been appointed to the matches "Qarabağ" – "Araz-Naxçıvan" and "Sabah" – "Neftçi". The head referees, fourth referees, VAR and AVAR will also be justice representatives who manage elite matches.
The games will be managed by Ravan Hamzazade and Inqilab Mammadov, respectively. FIFA referees Aliyar Agayev and Farid Hajiyev will be the fourth referees.
Agayev will not be the only FIFA referee in the "Qarabağ" match. Kamal Umudlu will watch the game in VAR, and former FIFA referee Rauf Cabarov will watch it in AVAR. Nijat Ismayilli and Tural Gurbanov, who manage Premier League matches, will share the same functions in the other match.
