Vugar wore the uniform of 5 clubs in the Premier League. He played 16 times for "Baku", 12 for "Simurq", 8 (1 goal) for "Qarabağ", 77 (1 goal) for "Zira", and 137 times for "Sumgayit". Mustafayev is the 77th football player in the history of national championships to have played 250 or more matches.
It should be noted that his debut took place in the 2013/2014 season. Vugar appeared on the field on November 22, 2013 in the match "Baku" - "Khazar Lankaran" (3:0).
