"Spring Tournament" organized in Shamakhi

The "Spring Tournament" among girls under 12 years old was held in Shamakhi with the organization of AFFA and the support of UEFA. Sport24.az reports that 6 teams competed in the tournament held at the Shamakhi city stadium.

The team of Goylar village secondary school No. 2 named after T.Karimov became the winner of the tournament. II and III places were taken by Shamakhi European Lyceum and Sabir settlement secondary school named after A.Alkhanov, respectively.

Maryam Mustafayeva, a student of Sabir settlement secondary school, became the most productive player of the tournament with 6 goals. Ayan Dashdizade, a student of Shamakhi European Lyceum, was selected as the best player, and Zahra Guluyeva, a student of Goylar village secondary school No. 2, was selected as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. The first three teams were awarded diplomas and medals, and the winning team was awarded a cup. The awards were presented by Amina Hasanova, head of the AFFA Women's Football Department, Gulenber Gasimova, head coach of the U-15 (girls) national team, and Aytaj Nematova, assistant coach of the U-17 (girls) national team.

It should be noted that the main goal of the project is to attract new female football players to the AFFA U-13 Girls League and national teams in the lower age group in the future. The participating teams were provided with sports clothing and equipment by AFFA and UEFA.
