Spanish club renews La Liga record

Spanish club Barcelona has renewed the La Liga record for the number of shots on goal in a match.

Report informs, citing Opta, that this happened in the XXXIII round match against Mallorca (1:0).

The team led by Hans-Dieter Flick fired 40 shots at the opponent's goal. 13 of these shots were on target.

Since the 2003/2004 season, the only record holder in this indicator was Real Madrid. The Madrid club had the same number of shots on Zaragoza's goal in the national championship in 2011.

It should be noted that Barcelona is currently in the first place in the standings with 76 points.
