"Sabah" has reached the final of the Azerbaijan Cup for the first time in its history. Sport24.az reports that the team, coached by Vasili Berezutski, eliminated "Neftchi" from the competition in the semi-finals (2:1, 1:1).
"Sabah" became the 19th team to reach the final in the 33-year history of the tournament. "Qarabag" 12, "Neftchi" 11, "Shamakhi" 6, "Khazar Lankaran" and "Gabala" 5, "Kapaz" 4, "Baku" 3, "Kur-Nur", "Shamkir", "Sumgayit" and "Zira" have successfully passed the semi-finals 2 times. "Inshaatchi" (Baku), "Shafa", "Khazri", "MKT-Araz", "Inshaatchi" (Sabirabad), "Khazar" (Lankaran) and "Karvan" have achieved this once, like "Sabah".
It should be noted that the 2001/02 and 2019/20 seasons remained incomplete.
