Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has called the increase in salaries in football a problem.
Idman.biz reports that the member of the Supervisory Board of "Bavaria" said this in an interview with "Kicker".
He stated that the dynamics of transfer amounts should be viewed in the context of club revenues:
- In 2000, Bayern's income was 283 million German marks, i.e. 144.7 million euros. Last year, this figure reached 951.5 million euros, i.e. more than a six-fold increase.
Transfer fees are not such a big problem, because these expenses are amortized over the term of the contract. For example, when Harry Kane's transfer of 100 million euros is divided into a four-year contract, it costs Bayern only 25 million euros per year.
The real big problem is the increase in salaries. We at Bayern sometimes pay excessively high salaries compared to the benefits the club receives.
- Is it possible to fix this?
- Of course, PSG showed it. It is possible to reverse everything, you just need to apply smart and consistent changes.
- Like in the case of Leroy Sane this summer?
- His contract was expiring. Everything else is his personal decision and this decision must be respected.
