Legendary Raul could work in the second Bundesliga, where Azerbaijani national team striker Mahir Emreli also plays. Sport24.az reports that Schalke has offered the 47-year-old Spaniard the position of head coach for the next season.
Raul has been coaching Real Madrid's second team, Castilla, since 2019.
It is also reported that the German club had previously approached Domenico Tedesco with an offer, but the coach, who left the Belgian national team, refused to work in the second Bundesliga.
Schalke is currently 11th in the second Bundesliga this season.
It should be noted that Raul, who spent two seasons at Schalke as a player, won the German Cup and Super Cup in 2011.
