"If a decision is made to pay a large fee after a certain number of legionnaires and attract additional players, justice will be violated. I would very much like the criteria to be the same for everyone. Because there are teams in the championship with low or high budgets. In this case, the balance of power will change dramatically." These words were said by the head coach of "Zira" Rashad Sadygov in his statement to Sport24.az, while commenting on the decision to abolish the legionnaire limit, which has been discussed in recent days.
He expressed his desire that the decision-makers apply a unified rule for all teams:
"Some clubs can bring them. Others have limited financial resources. We don't know what's going on inside. But I ask that the amount to be paid for legionnaires remains unchanged. Let it be 15, 14, 13, but let it be one number. The fee that will be raised for attracting a foreign football player after a certain number will create a gap between the teams."
The reaction of the "Great Captain" to the issue of paying 300 manats for every minute a local football player spends on the field was as follows:
"I haven't heard this conversation. You have to sit down and talk to each other. After you know the issue clearly, you can say whether 100,000 should be paid for a legionnaire or not. Clubs will also have financial interests in this matter. Probably something is being thought of, analyzed. We don't analyze as much as they do. In that sense, I always say that if something is being discussed, it needs to be analyzed so that we can respond in a way that suits us."
It should be noted that the legionnaire limit is expected to be abolished from the new season.
