"Zira" defeated "Kapaz" 1:0 in the 32nd round of the Misli Premier League. Sport24.az reports that the head coach of the "Eagles," Rashad Sadigov, answered journalists' questions at the press conference held after the match:
- It was a difficult game as we expected. The opponent had not lost at home since the winter break. We knew that "Kapaz" would fight hard. We did our best to create an advantage. We started the game well. The opponent did not give us much opportunity to play comfortably. At the beginning of the second half, we increased the speed. We scored a goal in those minutes. Then we had good counter-attacks. It would have been easier for us if we had scored the second goal. We have 4 games ahead of us. We have to perform well in every match.
- What innovations will you bring to the European Cups?
- 3 teams have a chance for the Europa League. All three teams will fight to the end. The goal set for us was European Cups. It is gratifying to do this by winning a medal. We want to take second place. Time will tell how it will be. "Araz-Nakhchivan" will not give up until the end.
- You and Gurban Gurbanov have been working in the same team for a long time. Why don't our other clubs give coaches so many chances?
- Our clubs trust local coaches more. I am personally proud of the work done by local specialists. I can mention everyone one by one. The work they show is proud.
- What will be your goal in the European Cups?
- Today, passing one round is considered a success. The reason for this is our low rating. We need to strengthen our rating so that there are suitable opponents in the early stages. We have to collect rating points by clawing. It is not easy to achieve success in European Cups. We will be under pressure this year. Because we reached the play-off stage last year. Time will tell everything. We want to get stronger. Today I am satisfied with the conditions created for us by the club. It would be good if we could get a little stronger. We will slowly start working this week. After our participation in the European Cups was confirmed yesterday, I was interested in when the first game in the Conference League is. Currently, our priority is to take second place in the championship.
- Last season, "Zira" played more pragmatically. This season, there is both a beautiful game and a result. Have you been able to instill your game philosophy in the team?
- Who played better than us last year? Everyone wants to win. We all want to play beautiful football and have good results. This year, there are more moments when we take risks. There is a time for everything. For me, "Qarabag", Gurban Gurbanov is a school. God willing, we will reach that level one day. Both our results will be good and our game will please everyone. I am very satisfied with my players. We have transferred players from clubs that finished last season in 8-9th place. We have not made ambitious transfers. We are trying to form a good team according to our strength and capabilities.
- When will "Zira" be able to make transfers by paying high amounts?
- The important thing is that the players you transfer are successful. This year we have made very successful transfers with a small budget. Maybe if we spent big money, it wouldn't be so successful. Sometimes there are players that you want to add to your squad, but you can't give them the amount they want. Someday we will have such opportunities, and we will make expensive transfers. But today we are satisfied with the management.
