We have shown that football players in Azerbaijan can also go to big clubs.
This was stated by "Qarabag" CEO Emrah Celikel in his statement to "Report", while talking about Olavio Juninho's transfer to the Brazilian club "Flamengo".
The functionary stated that a serious and big transfer had taken place:
"It is gratifying that a player from "Qarabag" is moving to such teams. The Spanish club "Sevilla" was also interested in the striker. Then the "Flamengo" option appeared. The final decision was made by Juninho. The members of our club showed professionalism in the negotiation process. They requested all the necessary information and sent it to the other party".
A. Celikel also touched upon the forward's choice of "Flamengo" instead of "Sevilla":
"Because he is Brazilian. He most likely wants to play in the national team of his country. He made the decision, but that's my guess. This is the second major transfer we have made. Previously, Kadi Borges moved from "Qarabag" to the Russian representative "Krasnodar". The main thing is that Juninho is also satisfied. Anyway, after big offers, we didn't believe that he would be able to work with motivation in our team".
It should be noted that Olavio Juninho has been wearing the uniform of the "bay horses" since 2023. The forward, who won the championship and cup of Azerbaijan, played 80 games for the Agdam club, scoring 42 goals and 4 assists.
