A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between "Qarabağ" and "Deloitte Azerbaijan." Sport24.az reports that the club's press service has released information about this.
At the event held at the training base of the Aghdam representative located in "Azersun Arena" in Surakhani settlement, the memorandum was signed by "Qarabağ" president Tahir Gozel and Managing Partner of Deloitte's Azerbaijan office Nuran Kerimov. The president of the club presented Kerimov with a "Qarabağ" jersey.
The main purpose of this cooperation is to provide various professional services for the development of "Qarabağ", to provide support in the areas of management, strategic planning and sustainability. The signed memorandum serves to strengthen its position in the international arena, to adapt the club's management practices to global standards and to make an important contribution to its future development.
Speaking at the event, Tahir Gozel noted the club's activities in recent times: "Within the framework of COP29, we, as "Qarabağ" Football Club, have taken important steps. I would like to share the results of that path. First of all, during COP29, the Football Clubs Alliance for Climate was established at the initiative of our club. This alliance was realized with the invitation and initiative of "Qarabağ", with the support of the COP29 Presidency and UNFCCC, as well as co-organization with ECA. Leading football clubs of the world such as "Liverpool", "Tottenham", "Atlético Madrid", "Real Betis", "Fenerbahce", "Galatasaray", "Udinese", "Porto", "Flamengo" and "Malmö" participated in the alliance together with "Qarabağ". These clubs shared their experiences on climate change and sustainability and signed a declaration for joint activities. At the same time, "Qarabağ" was accepted as an official partner of the UN's "Sports for Climate Action" initiative, thus becoming the first football club in the region to become a member of the UNFCCC. This membership allowed us to join the "Race to Zero" campaign. Within this framework, our club has accepted the following commitments: to reduce carbon emissions by at least 50% by 2030, to reach zero emissions by 2040, to disclose annual climate reports to the public, to submit a concrete action plan within 12 months."
