Former Real Madrid and Portugal defender Pepe has responded to rumors about possible work in the staff of Los Blancos' new head coach Jose Mourinho.
Sport.Biz reports that on June 11, Jose Mourinho was appointed as the head coach of Real Madrid.
"These are just rumors. I haven't spoken to Mourinho, but you can never be sure what will happen next. The main thing is for the team to be united; that's what matters. This will strengthen the bond between the club, the fans, and the players. Given that Mourinho is an iconic figure, he is capable of returning Real Madrid to its former glory," - AS quotes Pepe's words.
Pepe played for Real Madrid from 2007 to 2017 and won 14 trophies, including three La Liga titles and three Champions League cups. After leaving Real Madrid in 2017, he played for Turkish club Beşiktaş before returning to Porto in January 2019.
