The amount to be paid for local footballers will be an additional incentive for clubs.
İdman.biz reports that this was stated by Vagif Sadigov, Chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee, in his statement to Report.
The experienced specialist expressed his attitude to the issue of applying a financial incentive mechanism by AFFA for the appearance of local players in the squad of clubs playing in the Misli Premier League.
According to him, the new decision will be beneficial for Azerbaijani football: "If the legionnaire limit is abolished in the Premier League, we must also think about local players. The amount to be paid will create conditions for local players to appear. I think that the current situation will be an incentive for clubs. The decision taken is calculated for the benefit of Azerbaijani football. Because there is a clause there that more payment will be made for a football player who has played for a minimum of 3 consecutive seasons in the lower age groups or reserve team of the same club until he rises to the main team."
Sadigov recalled that the clubs playing in the Premier League give chances to local players in the main team:
"The first round is already behind us in the current season. We couldn't watch the games of "Qarabag" and "Sabah". But when we looked at other clubs, we came across a pleasant sight. When the legionnaire limit was abolished, we all thought that clubs would only play with foreign players. But in the first round, we saw that even ambitious teams use the services of local football players."
It should be noted that, according to the new decision, the bonus fund will be formed from the fees to be paid for legionnaire football players included in the application form of the clubs participating in the championship.
