Norway will donate the revenue from the match between the Norwegian national team and the Israeli national team in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup to help the residents of Gaza.
Lent.az reports that this was stated by the president of the Norwegian Football Association, Liz Klaveness:
"Neither we nor other organizations can remain indifferent to the humanitarian suffering and disproportionate attacks that civilians in the Gaza Strip have long faced."
The money will be transferred to the account of one of the humanitarian organizations operating in the Gaza Strip.
The match between the national teams of Norway and Israel will be held on October 11. The Norwegian national team is the leader in Group I of the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup - with 12 points from four matches. The Israeli national team has six points after three matches and is in second place.
