"Newcastle United" announced on its official website that they have extended the contract with central defender Fabian Schär until the summer of 2027.
Idman.Biz reports that Schär has been with the English club since 2018.
"I am very happy to stay at the club. I feel like I've achieved a lot in the eight years I've been here, but I believe there's still a lot more to come. I'm proud to call Newcastle my home. Everyone knows how happy I am in this city and at this club, so I'm very happy to stay for another year. Due to my injury, last season didn't end as I wanted, but now I'm fully focused on regaining my form and helping the team achieve our goals for next season," Schär said.
To date, the defender has played 251 games for the "Magpies" in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 10 assists. According to the Transfermarkt online portal, the player's transfer value is 6 million euros.
