New rule discussion in the Champions League is underway

Extra time could be abolished in the Champions League play-off stage from next season. Sport24.az reports that UEFA is currently discussing possible innovations with clubs.

 

It is proposed that if the goal difference is equal in normal time between two matches, a penalty shootout should be held immediately. This innovation is expected to ease the burden on players.

 

The UEFA Competitions Committee will discuss the amendment to the aforementioned article of the Champions League regulations at the UEFA General Assembly to be held in Munich on May 30.
