Romania national team coach Mircea Lucescu has made a statement about his condition after being urgently hospitalized during the team's training session.
Idman.Biz reports that the 80-year-old expert said he lost consciousness due to strong emotions and nervous tension experienced during the analysis of the game against the Turkish national team.
According to him, he had difficulty breathing at that time.
Lucescu noted that a similar situation occurred during his time at the Italian football club "Brescia" and at the end of last year. He said that he will undergo additional medical examinations in the coming days.
It should be reminded that the Romanian national team lost to Turkey 0:1 in Istanbul on March 26 and stopped fighting in the play-off stage of the European zone of the 2026 World Cup. The team will play a friendly match with Slovakia on March 31, but Lucescu will not participate in this match.
The experienced expert has been leading the Romanian national team since August 2024. During his career, he has also worked in clubs such as Inter "Milan", "Galatasaray", "Besiktas", "Donetsk Shakhtar" and "Dynamo Kyiv".
