"We were playing in front of our fans. We prepared well for the game. We knew what to do on the field. It was important to win after the last defeat."
These words were said to Sport24.az by Mehrac Baxshali, a football player of "Mingachevir", who defeated "Baku Sporting" (4:0) in the 23rd round of the First League.
The young football player assessed his team's chances of staying in the league:
"There is a family atmosphere in "Mingachevir". We will do everything we can to stay in the league. We have 4 games ahead of us, equal to the final. Hopefully, we will get the result we want from these games."
The defender, who is a graduate of "Gabala", spoke about his former team qualifying for the Premier League:
"Gabala" is my home. It was my first team and I started playing football there. I have many friends and acquaintances there. I congratulated everyone. Hopefully, they will return to the Premier League even stronger. I have a contract with "Mingachevir" until the end of the next season. At the moment, all my thoughts are on our goal in the club."
It should be noted that "Mingachevir" is in 7th place in the First League with 25 points after 23 rounds.
