The Mexico national team will face the Ecuador national team in the 1/16 finals of WC-2026.
Sport.Biz reports that the game will be held on July 1.
Mexico took first place in Group A with nine points. Ecuador took third place in Group E with four points.
WC-2026 is held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The group stage is held from June 11 to 28. Teams play each other in a round-robin system (each team plays three games). The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the playoffs.
The current tournament champion is the Argentina national team.
