Qarabag player Marko Jankovic spoke about his argument with referee Ravan Hamzazade after the Sabah game. Sport24.az reports that the Montenegrin midfielder wrote this comment on the video of those episodes:
"If you present yourself as a serious journalist and an intelligent person, I want you to answer the following questions:
If I wanted to hit him, wouldn't I have had enough opportunity to do so?
If the reaction of 20 people is the same, is it possible that they are all crazy and only 1 person is right?
Has anyone ever asked themselves what word or action of the referee caused such a reaction in me?
And no, it's not because I thought it was a penalty. The point is that the first time I asked him to look at VAR on the field, he gave me a red card and said "get out"! Not just once, but many times and not just to me! Moreover, the person who should be the calmest on the field - the referee - invites me to the dressing room?! Why? To fight with me? This is absurd and completely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior towards his profession. I may disagree with the decision, but I did not insult him. Remember that this is my first red card in 4 years at Qarabag and the second time in my career. Think about it."
Qarabag lost to Sabah 1:2.
