Elvin and Abbas are undergoing additional individual training to return to the main team.
İdman.Biz reports that these words were said by Maksim Medvedev, the head coach of the "Qarabagh" reserve team, in an interview with AZERTAC, while talking about the current situation of the football players Elvin Jafarquliyev and Abbas Huseynov, who were removed from the main team.
He stated that both football players continue their training in the reserve team: "Currently, both Elvin Jafarquliyev and Abbas Huseynov are in my team. We have discussed what happened and I understand them. It would not be right to criticize football players directly in such cases. Everyone can make mistakes. It seems that there were certain reasons and that is why head coach Gurban Gurbanov removed them from the main team. It is possible that this event will cause both Elvin and Abbas to draw certain conclusions. They are professional and well-known football players. The occurrence of such cases is also closely monitored by the sports community. No one wanted such a situation to arise and the football players are currently bearing the responsibility for it."
The head coach also emphasized that additional measures are being taken to maintain the players' physical condition: "We are trying to keep them in shape. We also conduct additional training for this. They also correctly assess the situation and try to be ready to return to the main team. They even undergo additional individual training after training. There is currently a break in the Reserve League due to the U-20 national team. It is very important for football players to maintain their playing practice during the break. If they stay in the team until the end of the break, we plan to involve them in games. The goal is for the football players not to lose their playing practice. There are important matches ahead and we want them to be ready when they return to the main team."
M.Medvedev said that the return of the players to the main team depends on the decision of head coach Gurban Gurbanov: "It is not yet known how long they will play in the reserve team. This issue depends entirely on the head coach's decision. I believe that after a certain period of time, what happened can be discussed and the players can be forgiven. We also made mistakes and received punishments when we were football players."
He noted that there has been no direct discussion with Gurban Gurbanov, the former football player of "Qarabagh" and the Azerbaijani national team, regarding this issue: "Currently, his attention is focused on championship games. However, we are constantly in contact with assistant coaches and I inform them about the players' condition, statistics and behavior."
