Veteran Azerbaijani footballer Mahmud Gurbanov has said that he is fine with "Qarabag" defender Badavi Huseynov equaling his championship record.
The former national team member and coach said this in an interview with "Report".
M. Gurbanov said that this was expected:
"My attitude is normal. Records are updated sometime. It is normal for Badavi Huseynov to reach me. "Qarabag" has been the champion of Azerbaijan for many years. It was expected that one of the players playing in the team would repeat the record. I take it normally."
It should be noted that Mahmud Gurbanov won 11 gold medals in 6 different clubs. The former midfielder experienced this joy in "Kapaz" (1994/1995, 1997/1998, 1998/1999), "Neftchi" (1996/1997, 2003/2004, 2004/2005), "Shamkir" (1999/2000, 2000/2001), "Khazar Lankaran" (2006/2007), "Inter" (2007/2008) and "Baku" (2008/2009).
