Spanish national team winger Lamin Lamal has shared his thoughts on the upcoming semi-final match against France at the 2026 World Cup.
İdman.Biz reports that the 19-year-old player himself asked to attend the pre-match press conference with head coach Luis de la Fuente.
Lamal, answering journalists' questions, stated that he is not worried about the number of goals he scores:
"Goals don't worry me. But it's a special event to stand out in such an important match. That's why I accept the coach's call. I don't believe in numerology. Yes, my number is 19, and the final will be held on July 19. But the head coach of the Portuguese national team also said something similar, and in the end, Merino scored against them".
The member of the Spanish national team emphasized his confidence before the match against France:
"The fans are waiting for a great match. Thank you for coming to congratulate me on my birthday. I will congratulate myself on victory over France. I've heard that some people say I'm not in good shape and don't expect anything from me. But I know that July 14 will be a special day".
Lamal, who turned 19 on July 13, has scored one goal at the 2026 World Cup. The semi-final match between Spain and France will be held on July 14 at 23:00 Baku time in Dallas. The winning team will qualify for the final, which will take place on July 19.
