"Kapaz"'s new transfer: "I want to show the experience I gained in Italy in Azerbaijan" - INTERVIEW
Kapaz's new transfer, Trent Buhagiar, gave an interview to Report.
A member of the Maltese national team talked about the details of his move to the Ganja club. The player, originally from Australia, discussed the differences between the Italian Serie B, where he last played, and the Azerbaijani championship.
- How would you introduce yourself?
- I play as an attacking midfielder. I play on the right and left wings. I am in many parts of the field and I am a versatile football player. I am a player who can quickly get behind the opposing defenders and score goals.
- How did your transfer to Kapaz happen?
- I came to Azerbaijan through my manager. I was given some information about Kapaz and I thought I could help this team. I think I will be able to benefit Kapaz until the end of the season.
- What information did you get when you came to Kapaz?
- I don't know any football players playing in Azerbaijan. I got some information from the internet. This team has a large fan base. The club's new stadium is currently under construction. I believe that fans will soon fill the stadium and we will win victories on that field.
- You watched the Kapaz - Sabail match live from the stadium in the XX round of the Azerbaijan Premier League. What were your thoughts?
- I also have information that we won 5:2 against Turan Tovuz in the previous round. Unfortunately, we lost to Sabail. But Kapaz seemed very eager from the outside. They "fought" to win, but lost by a minimal score. Such situations are inevitable in football.
- Are you regularly invited to the Maltese national team?
- We had two meetings last November. One was a test and the other was a UEFA Nations League match. I played in both games. Unfortunately, we couldn't win. We are looking forward to the qualifying matches of the World Championship. I want to play well in Kapaz and strengthen my place in the Maltese national team.
- You last played for Brescia in Italy. What are the differences between Serie B and the Azerbaijan Premier League?
- It's a little early to talk about that. I have only been able to watch one game live so far. But it is clear that the standards are higher in Italian Serie B. But I think that playing in Azerbaijan will also have its own special differences.
- Can the transfer of a football player playing in Italian Serie B to a club at the bottom of the Azerbaijan Premier League be considered a step back in his career?
- I don't think so. I have played football in Italy and I want to share the experience I gained there with Kapaz. I believe that I will show my strength in the Azerbaijan championship. In the upcoming rounds, we will score enough points and get rid of the last place. I am very excited to play in front of our fans. I hope I will experience this feeling in our new stadium. I want to tell our fans to support us. With their help, we will get rid of the last step.
