"In the last game, we lacked composure and accuracy in shots. We had more opportunities to score, but we couldn't take advantage of them," said Ali Samadov, Kapaz's midfielder, in a statement to the club's press service, Sport24.az reports.
Speaking about the match with "Shamakhi," the footballer said that if they had used the opportunities that came their way, the score would have been different:
"The meeting in Shamakhi was very important for us. It was important in the fight for 7th place in the tournament table. If we had won, we would have moved forward. That's why we prepared seriously. I don't think we played badly, even though we lost. As a team, our fight was good, we just wasted scoring chances."
Samadov, one of Kapaz's captains, also said that the 8-point difference with "Sabail" does not create complacency in them:
"An 8-point difference with 5 rounds left to the end of the championship is not small. We need to speak openly. But this does not give us comfort. It's football, anything can happen. In the upcoming games, we must do our best to increase our point reserve. We must maintain our seriousness. Nothing is impossible. We can climb to higher places."
