Former Liverpool player John Arne Riise has answered a question about whether it's time for 41-year-old Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo to retire.

"I know that the coach of the Portugal national team values Ronaldo, but I think the situation with Cristiano was very sad in this World Cup. He didn't score for a while, then scored a few goals and claimed to have returned, but then disappeared again. I don't think Roberto Martines handled this situation well. He should have been more decisive and put the team above one player.
I don't think Ronaldo will be ready for Euro 2028, and I don't think he's good enough to play for the Portugal national team at the highest level. He should retire from international football and give young players a chance.
