"I'm not sure this is the right decision." These words were said by Ivan Brkic, the former goalkeeper of "Neftchi", in an interview with Sport24.az.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who currently plays for the Polish club "Motor", commented on the abolition of the legionnaire limit in the Azerbaijan Premier League in the 2025/2026 season:
"Foreign players can raise the level of the Premier League. But without restrictions, talented local players may suffer. A balance must be found in Azerbaijan. You have to develop your own players and quality legionnaires should come from abroad."
