Former goalkeeper and captain of the Spanish "Real Madrid" football team, Iker Casillas, has harshly criticized the head coach of the "royal club," Alvaro Arbeloa.
İdman.Biz reports with reference to the "Sport" publication that Casillas associated Arbeloa's appointment to the helm of the team with high-level support.
"Undoubtedly, Arbeloa is the most promoted youth team coach in the modern history of Real Madrid. There are other reasons for this that can be explained and are not appropriate to say at the moment. But everyone close to the Real Madrid dressing room knows this," the former goalkeeper emphasized.
It should be noted that Alvaro Arbeloa was appointed head coach of Real Madrid in January 2026. Under his leadership, the team has won 14 and lost seven of the 23 matches it has played.
Currently, after 33 matches in the Spanish La Liga, "Barcelona" leads the standings with 85 points. "Real Madrid" is in second place, 11 points behind the Catalans.
