For the first time in the history of the World Championships, the winning team will receive championship rings. According to Sport24.az, the FIFA press service has announced this.
The winners of the DC-2026 will receive the first historic championship rings. This tradition originated in North America and has been adopted by world football.
A limited collection of 2026 rings will be presented, of which 30 are intended for the winners and 1996 for fans around the world. The rings will be individually numbered as a direct sign of respect for the tournament.
One side of the rings will feature the World Cup trophy, and the other side will be designed according to the logo of the winning team. Each ring will be individually numbered, specially crafted, and presented with a certificate of authenticity.
Immediately after the final, the captain and coach of the winning team will receive temporary rings to commemorate the occasion. Each of the 30 rings for the winners will be specially crafted and officially presented later.
