This went down in history as the first victory of U-19 in the European Championship.
"Report" informs that Ilgar Aslanov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national futsal team under 19, said this in a statement to the press service of the Futsal Federation, evaluating the match (4:1) with Kosovo in the preliminary stage of the European Championship.
The expert stated that this victory is not enough to pass the stage yet:
"This went down in history as the first victory of U-19 in the European Championship. That's why we are happy. But we have only done half the job so far. This victory is not enough to pass the stage. We have to continue it tomorrow. I believe that as a team we will not miss this chance and we will win and make our fans happy and advance to the main stage."
He emphasized that the team was excited at the beginning:
"The game was difficult. We fell behind in the course of the match. The team was very excited because they were participating in such a competition for the first time. But we equalized before the break. During the conversation in the dressing room, they realized that this opponent could be defeated. As a result, we found strength in the second half and scored the winning goals. I congratulate the futsal family."
It should be noted that U-19 will meet with the San Marino team of the corresponding age group on January 26. All matches of this group will be held in San Marino. However, the first place winner will qualify for the main stage. The main stage matches will be held from March 21 to 26.
