Gurban Gurbanov has won the Azerbaijani champion title for the 11th time as head coach. The 53-year-old specialist, who won all these titles while "at the helm" of "Qarabagh", has updated his own record. Sport24.az reports with reference to the official website of the PFL that Gurbanov has won these championships in the last 12 years. The 11th title was secured in the XXXII round of the Misli Premier League.
Previously, Gurbanov also went down in history as the architect of "Qarabagh"'s championship in the 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
In general, 11 head coaches have won the gold medal of the Azerbaijani championship. Agaselim Mircavadov has 5 championships: 1993, 1999/2000, 2000/01, 2004/05, 2006/07.
Kazbek Tuaev (1993/94, 1995/96, 1996/97, 2003/04) four, Mehman Allahverdiyev (1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99) and Buyukaga Hajiyev (2005/06, 2011/12, 2012/13) each experienced the joy of championship three times.
Ahmad Alaskarov 1992, Valentin Khodukin 2007/08, Gyoko Hadzievski 2008/09, Kakhabyr Tskhadadze 2009/10, Arif Asadov 2010/11 and Samir Abasov 2020/21 noted their only championship.
