Former Chelsea midfielder and current Coventry manager Frank Lampard has stated that his Chelsea side from the 2004/05 season was one of the greatest teams in Premier League history. Sport24.az reports that he made this statement to The Telegraph:
"I think that in the 2004/05 season we were at the same level as what Arsenal did when they were invincible, and then with Josep Guardiola's Manchester City. There is no doubt that when discussions about the greatest teams in the English Premier League take place, we also deserve to be remembered."
It should be noted that in the 2004/2005 season, Chelsea, under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, became the English champions. The Londoners suffered only one defeat and eight draws during the season. The "Nobles" conceded only 15 goals in 38 rounds of the Premier League.
