Frank De Bleeckere, chairman of the AFFA Referees Committee, shared his thoughts on the controversial episode in the "Qarabağ" - "Turan Tovuz" match held in the XX round of the Misli Premier League. Sport24.az reports that the 58-year-old expert spoke about the goal scored by the Tovuz representative in the 89th minute of the match.
He said that the goal was scored within the rules:
The "Turan Tovuz" player passes the ball in front of the goal from a corner kick. "Qarabağ" goalkeeper Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev comes out for the ball and clears it with his fist. The ball falls in front of "Turan Tovuz" player Kauan Martins and he scores. After watching the footage in VAR, it is clear that there is no foul (goalkeeper challenge/contact) that disturbed the goalkeeper's balance. The goal is counted because it was scored within the rules."
It should be noted that "Turan Tovuz" defeated their opponent with a score of 2:1.
