Former President of the Football Association of Ukraine Andrey Pavelko has been detained in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. According to Sport24.az, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced the detention.
Kravchenko stated that Pavelko will be extradited to Ukraine soon.
"Pavelko has been evading Ukrainian justice for years. However, international search and effective cooperation with foreign partners have yielded results. He is accused of embezzling about 295 million hryvnias belonging to the federation using various commercial structures," the Prosecutor General wrote on his personal Telegram channel.
Note that Andrey Pavelko left Ukraine in December 2024 and was put on the international wanted list a year later.
