Former Manchester United and French national team defender Patrice Evra is preparing for his first MMA fight.
Idman.biz reports that the 43-year-old athlete will debut on May 23, 2025, at the "PFL Europe 2" tournament at the "Accor Arena" in Paris.
Although the opponent's name has not yet been announced, Evra has stated that he wants to meet Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez in the octagon.
Speaking about his upcoming debut, Evra said: "I am officially preparing for my first fight in the PFL tournament. They will choose an opponent for me. They asked me who I would like to meet, and I mentioned Luis Suarez. I am ready to pay for this fight out of my own pocket, and he can even bite me."
Evra started combat training in 2016 and trained with PFL fighter Cedric Dumbe. His debut will be part of a night in Paris that will also feature Mansu Barnaui, Archie Colgan, and Taylor Lapilus.
Evra, who left football in 2018, won the English Championship five times during his career and won the Champions League with Manchester United. Now he is trying to succeed in MMA.
