Former coordinator of the "Karabakh" football academy, Önder Karaveli, gave a statement to his country's press. Sport24.az reports that the 51-year-old specialist spoke about Abdullah Avcı, with whom he had worked before, on Radyospor's live broadcast.
"We worked with him twice at Başakşehir. I was also in his technical staff at Trabzonspor. After leaving Trabzonspor, he received an offer from Neftchi and the Azerbaijani national team. But at that time the process was new. There was no progress. Azerbaijan is a country that loves football. There are opportunities for development. I used to work in Karabakh, I love this country very much."
It should be noted that Karaveli worked in "Karabakh" from January 2020 to the summer of 2021. Abdullah Avcı left "Trabzonspor" in the summer of 2024.
