The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) has asked the Egyptian national team to remove the stars from their jerseys before the opening match of the 2026 World Cup.

The organization also demands to change the golden color used for the players' names and numbers.
The seven stars above the logo of the Egyptian Football Federation on the team's uniform represent their seven victories in the African Nations Cup. According to FIFA rules, the stars above the emblem represent the number of World Cup trophies won by the team.
In the first match of Group G of the 2026 World Cup, Egypt will face Belgium. The match will be held on June 15.
