Ferran Torres, the striker of the Spanish football club Barcelona, was named the best player of the World Cup 2026 final.
İdman.Biz reports that the 26-year-old player was presented with the individual award by Colombian singer Shakira, who announced her support for the Spanish team before the final match.
Torres started the decisive match against Argentina on the substitute bench and entered the field in the 62nd minute, replacing Mikel Oyarzabal. The striker scored the only goal of the match in the 106th minute of extra time, securing Spain's World Cup victory.
Spain defeated Argentina 1-0, becoming the world champion for the second time in their history. The team won its first World Cup title in 2010.
