UEFA is considering the implementation of this innovation. It is also possible that such a step will only be taken in the Champions League for now.
However, the implementation of this innovation in the coming seasons is not considered realistic. This is because television broadcasting contracts are valid until the summer of 2027.
It should be noted that if extra time is abolished, the winner of the tie will be determined directly by a penalty shootout.
