Donetsk Shakhtar wants to play Champions League games in England

Donetsk Shakhtar is in talks with three English clubs to play their home games in the Champions League. Sport24.az reports that The Athletic has released information about this.

 

The Ukrainian club will participate in the main stage of the prestigious European club tournament and is currently in talks with Chelsea, Brentford, and Fulham.

 

All three English clubs have been left out of European competition for the 2026/27 season. The Donetsk club will pay the rent for the stadium to the club they reach an agreement with.

 

Note that Shakhtar has been playing their European cup matches in Poland, Germany, and Slovenia since the 2022/23 season.
