France national team coach Didier Deschamps' mother has passed away, and he has left the team's camp to return to his country. According to Sport24.az, the French Football Federation (FFF) has announced this.
The coach has left the US to be with his family and attend the funeral. He will not be in the technical zone for the national team's last group stage match against Norway on June 26. According to an agreement with French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo, Deschamps' assistant Guy Stephan will lead the team in his absence.
Note that after two rounds, France is leading Group I with 6 points.
