According to the relevant order of the First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, the closing ceremony of the mini-football championship dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the National Leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, was held among the servicemen of the types of troops (forces) of the Azerbaijan Army, the main departments and departments of the Ministry, and special educational institutions. Sport24.az reports that the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense has released information about this.
At the championship held at the base of the Central Army Sports Club, first, the memory of the Great Leader and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence. The National Anthem was played accompanied by a military orchestra.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Colonel Javid Agayev, a representative of the Ministry of Defense, stressed that such competitions play an important role in maintaining the high level of physical fitness of military personnel and strengthening team spirit, congratulated the winning teams on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, and wished them success in their future service.
It should be noted that the teams of the Naval Forces and Air Forces met in the final match, which was managed by the referee of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA). In the competition held in a tense atmosphere, the team of the Naval Forces became the winner of the championship.
At the end of the event, cups and medals were presented to the winning teams.
