"This is the most tense and eagerly awaited derby in Azerbaijan in the last 15 years." These words were said by former Azerbaijani national team player Branimir Subasic in his statement to Sport24.az.
The 43-year-old veteran striker shared his thoughts on the "Qarabag" - "Neftchi" match to be held in the 31st round of the Misli Premier League:
"I can't make a prediction about the match. I hope it will be an open game and more goals will be scored. Who will I be cheering for in this meeting? "Qarabag" is a very good team. It has enough good players in its squad. But "Neftchi" has a special place in my career.
Subasic also gave advice to "Neftchi", who have not been able to perform well for several seasons:
"A good squad should be built for the next season. I hope it will be so. The team will say goodbye to some players. "Neftchi" deserves better."
It should be noted that Branimir Subasic wore the uniform of "Neftchi" in 2005-2008, and "Qarabag" in 2013. He worked for the success of the Azerbaijani national team in 2007-2013.
