"Looking at the group, it is clear that the favorite is the Portuguese national team." Arif Asadov said these words in his statement to Sport24.az while talking about the opponents of the U-21 in the European Championship qualifying round.
Asadov assessed Group B, which includes the youth team currently without a head coach:
"The Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Scotland and Gibraltar and the Azerbaijan national team are able to compete for 2nd and 5th places. In this regard, it is possible to express an opinion after a complete analysis of the opponents. But it is possible to fight all opponents and get points."
It should be noted that the qualifying round, which will start in March 2025, will last until October 2026. The final stage of the European Championship will be held in Serbia and Albania in 2027.
