The goal of Azerbaijan's national under-17 boys' football team is to win the match against Malta in the second round of the European Championship qualifying round.
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated by U-17 head coach Aqil Nabiyev in a statement to AFFA's press service.
He first evaluated the matches with Bulgaria (1:1) and Lithuania (0:0):
"We were the dominant side in the first game against Bulgaria. The opponent's biggest "weapon" was standard situations. They also scored the goal in this way. Nevertheless, we were able to score the equalizing goal. Although we had good opportunities to win, we could not take advantage of them. The main problem is in the final passes and shots. We experienced this problem in the second match against Lithuania as well. We completely dictated the match from beginning to end, we had more possession of the ball. The referee also did not award our two hundred percent penalties. We had countless scoring opportunities. The players must work hard to eliminate this shortcoming. We play matches after only 3-4 days of preparation in the national team, we don't have time to work on these".
A.Nabiyev spoke about the match against the Malta team, which will be held on March 30 as part of the last round of the group:
"The main thing is that there is a desire to win in the team, the players go out to every match to win. I believe that we will be able to realize this in the meeting with Malta. Our goal is to definitely win in the match with Malta. There is some fatigue in the players. In any case, we must play well in the last match of the group and achieve the result we want".
It should be noted that our U-17 national team, which is in the second group of League B, is in third place with two points.
