AFFA has issued a statement regarding the balls used in today's matches of the AFFA U-13 League. Sport24.az reports that earlier, sports journalist Miralem Hasanli shared a picture of the balls given for the U-13 League games today. The picture shows the balls in poor condition, with the skin dried out.
AFFA has issued a statement on the matter. It was noted that new balls were not used in order not to delay the scheduled start time of the games:
"Regarding the issue in the U-13 League, we would like to note that these are reserve balls. They are used in case of any force majeure. New balls were supposed to be brought this morning. The first halves were played with reserve balls so that the games would start on time and not be delayed. In the next games, the teams were already provided with new balls. An investigation will be conducted by us regarding the late arrival of the balls and appropriate steps will be taken."
